: ''"The state wisely avoided specifically challenging Cameron’s diagnosis of his patients with “chronic Lyme” or his treating “chronic Lyme” with long-term antibiotics. In fact, the term is never mentioned. In doing so, it circumvented the quagmire of arguing over “different points of view” and concentrated on the fact that Cameron quite simply failed his patients by giving them substandard care, “chronic Lyme” or no “chronic Lyme.” This strategy also avoided any shield which might have been provided by New York’s foolish law aimed at protecting “Lyme literate” doctors''<ref name= 'sbm">[https://sciencebasedmedicine.org/chronic-lyme-vip-daniel-cameron-disciplined-by-new-york-medical-authorities/ Chronic Lyme” VIP Daniel Cameron disciplined by New York medical authorities]</ref>

La sanction est aussi relatée sur le site Quackwatch : Daniel Cameron, M.D., Disciplined for Unprofessional Conduct<br>Stephen Barrett, M.D.<br>July 16, 2017. <ref>https://quackwatch.org/cases/board/med/cameron/charges_2017/</ref><br>In April 2017, the New York State Board for Professional Medical Conduct accused Daniel Cameron, M.D. of negligence and incompetence in his management of seven patients. The statement of charges (shown below) says:
 +
 +
:In all seven cases, Cameron failed to (a) obtain and/or record a medical history, (b) perform a physical examination, (c) appropriately construct a differential diagnosis, and (d) maintain records that accurately reflected the care and treatment rendered.
 +
:In six of the cases, he administered an escalating antibiotic regimen without appropriate sequential physical examinations and clinical re-assessments for consideration of any alternative diagnoses and/or treatment.

In July 2017, Cameron signed a consent order under which he acknowledged fault and was placed on probation for three years, during which he must use board-approved consent forms and maintain adequate records. Cameron practices in Mount Kisco, New York. His clinic Web site refers to him as a “Lyme disease leader.” Hoffmann is part of a small network of so-called “Lyme literate doctors” who attribute a multitude of common symptoms to “chronic Lyme disease,”which they assert should be treated with many weeks or months of intravenous antibiotic treatment. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Infectious Diseases Society of America), the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American College of Physicians, the Medical Letter and the American Academy of Neurology all reject these concepts. At least 25 other doctors who provide nonstandard diagnosis and treatment for “[[Maladie de Lyme chronique|chronic Lyme disease]]” have been disciplined by licensing boards.
