Oscar Carl Simonton

Oscar Carl Simonton (né le 29 juin 1942 à Los Angeles, mort le 18 juin 2009) est un radiologue américain, auteur de livres et inventeur des Simonton-Trainings (méthode également appelée en allemand Gesundheitsimmuntraining nach Simonton).

Courte biographie

Simonton est né à Los Angeles en 1942, fils d'un pasteur baptiste. Il a étudié la médecine à l'université de l'Oregon à Portland et s'est spécialisé en tant que radiologue. Il a ensuite travaillé comme radiologue et radiothérapeute à la base aérienne de Travis à Fairfield, en Californie, et a fondé un centre de conseil en cancérologie à Fort Worth, au Texas, dans les années 1970. En 1984, il a fondé une clinique privée "Simonton Cancer Center" pour le traitement des patients atteints de cancer à Pacific Palisades, en Californie.

En 1978, son livre "Getting Well Again", écrit avec sa femme de l'époque et psychothérapeute Stephanie Matthews-Simonton, est publié, dans lequel il relate des expériences vécues lors de son séjour à Fort Worth. Le livre est devenu un best-seller. Un différend sur ses théories a conduit au divorce avec sa femme de l'époque, Stephanie Matthews-Simonton.
