Zirconium fusion reactor of Bolotov
The Zirkonium Fusionsreaktor of Bolotov is an invention of the Ukrainian Boris Bolotov (Boris Bolotow, Борис Болотов). It is an apparatus that should render so called cold fusion possible, which should yield huge amounts of energy according to the inventor. With an electrical input of 5 kW the reactor is said to achieve a heating output of 200 kW.
A proof of any kind for the claims made by Bolotov does not exist. The topic of the "fusion reactor by Bolotov" found interest just in circles of supporters of "cold fusion as well as Internet projects dedicated to the topic of "cold fusion" and pursuing commercial objectives in those circles. As an example, the U.S. company Pure Energy Systems Network Inc. can be named, which has devoted uncritical articles to the reactor of Bolotov.
The fusion reactor by Bolotov
According to the inventor Boris Bolotov the reactor, which fits on a desk, transmutes the element zirconium through a fusion process into other chemical elements. The zirconium is said to be present in the reactor as zirconium oxide. As transmuted elements palladium and iridium are mentioned. Also, it produces gases that contain heavy metals.
The exact functional principle is kept secret by Bolotov. It is claimed that the reactor is powered by just nanoseconds long current surges. Inside the reactor would be a "cell" containing "liquid metal". With the current momentum an electric arc would be created that sets the intentioned nuclear fusion and transmutation in motion. The reactor is said to be based on an "Electrino" theory. (See: [1])
The Soviet Patent Office is said to have refused to grant Bolotov a patent. In general, a hypothetical fusion process with zirconium is endoenergetic. That means, it would need more energy to overcome the Coulomb barrier than could be obtained by the fusion process. Bolotov and several other people, however, managed to obtain a Ukrainian patent for a method to win atomic silicon, aluminum and phosphorus with a nuclear transformation ("transmutation"). The patent number is 19 900 and it was issued on Januray 15, 2011.[1]
Boris V. Bolotov
Various private websites in the Internet present Boris Vasilowich Bolotov (sometimes just Boris Bolotov or B.A. Bolotov) as some kind of universal academic genius, "Ukrainian Einstein", as a spiritual healer and author, inventor or "nutrition academic". He was not only scientist but physicist, chemist and biologist at the same time. He is said to have made about 600 inventions. Usually a "professor" is prefixed to the name, but a possible academic background is never mentioned. In the medical field various therapies with amazing success are claimed to go back to him, such as a treatment with pegs. In particular he is said to have succeeded in developing an Anti-Aging treatment that should allow the replacement of "old" body cells with new ones. As a chemist Bolotov had discovered one-hundred new chemical elements that are not recorded on the normal periodic tables of chemistry. This and quacksalver allegations against him are in his opinion based on his resistance against the political situation in the Soviet Union and that he was suppressed because of that.
Bolotov describes himself as a member of a "Ukrainian Peace Council", that appears to be in a relationship with the Moon cult. Bolotov also mentions a "True World Academy of Sciences" which is apparently responsible for selling Bolotov's inventions. Some of the Bolotov inventions are:
- Transmutation of radioactive waste
- Cold fusion of metals and minerals
- Production of organic foods on the basis of "enzymatic fermentation"
- Manufacture of mineral colours from waste
- Transformations of organic oil residues, waste paper and wood
- Elektrosmogprotection
- A Method of modulation of solar and stellar light to transmit messages
- Alternative methods for prevention of cancer, viral infections, frostbite, and more.
Waldemar Mordkovitch
Besides Bolotov a Polish engineer Waldemar Mordkovitch is involved with the alleged fusion reactor. Mordkovitch claims to be able to produce 20 kW heating output with a version of the Bolotov-reactor, with an energy consumption of just 60 Watt (electric). For 15 million Euro he would sell a license for the secret technology to an inventor.
