Hamer has been prosecuted in several European countries for the illegal practice of medicine. He now (2008) lives in Norway. In an interview given in September 2007 he said that he fled from Spain to Norway in order to escape a warrant for his arrest from Germany, for incitement of hatred against a minority of the population (article 130 of the German criminal code). Hamer has made many public statements in open letters and on webpages against Jews and accused an ''international Jewish conspiracy'' (in particular the New York based B’nai B’rith) of having killed two billion people by hiding the truth about the New Medicine. In a fax, his lawyer Koch wrote that the fax number +47 33 464950, which belongs to a person in southern Norway (Sandefjord), is Hamer's. In May 2008, Hamer said in an open letter that his address in Norway would be his publishing company address in Sandefjord, ''Germanische Neue Medizin Forlag Dr. Hamer'' in '' Sandkollveien 11, N-3229 Sandefjord''.<ref>GERMANISCHE NEUE MEDIZIN FORLAG DR. The internet lists many different biografies of Hamer, showing evident differences. This article refers only to data that were extracted from different court papers of the Hamer-trials and law suits, articles published in newspapers, radio and tv-transmissions and some statements from people who formerly worked with Hamer. Hamer's own statements differ significantly from information in the court's records.

Ryke Geerd Hamer was born May 17, 1935 in Mettmann (Germany), as the third-oldest out of four brothers. However, Hamer claims he has five siblings. His mother was of italian origin. He grew up in the north-western part of Germany called Ostfriesland, where he lived in the house of his grandfather until the age of 7. The name of his father is perhaps Heinrich Hamer. Heinrich Hamer was a protestant pastor in Meschede from 1945 to 1969. In his own book Einer gegen Alle ("One against All") Hamer said that his father's name was Heinz. Hamer finished high school in Krefeld and studied theology and medicine in Tübingen and Erlangen (Germany). Hamer said that he studied 8 semester theology and became magister theol. He also studied medicine and finished his studies the day 10th of april 1962, after 12 normal semesters, and therefore could not work as physician earlier than that date. (see court files) In 1963 he was granted a professional license as a doctor of medicine at age 28, his doctoral thesis deals about an ophthalmological theme that has nothing to do with his future inventions and ideas. The publication date of his doctoral thesis can be retrieved at the Deutsche Bibliothek, where the thesis is stored. Hamer and some of his followers state that he was allegedly Germany's youngest physician. Hamer allegedly attended also some lectures in physics, but he never finished any study in physics and can not be considered therefore to be a physicist or to have a good knowledge in physics. In Tübingen he met Sigrid Oldenburg, a medical student who later became his wife in 1956 and who became also physician. In february 1972, after 10 long years (usually only 5 years are needed in Germany) Hamer completed his specialization in internal medicine. He was never a head physician or head of a clinic department as Hamer states without any proof. He was not a psychiatrist, gynecologist, radiologist or onclogist as some people state on different web pages in the internet or publish it in several books. He was never a lecturer or professor. His attempts to become a professor failed because the university of Tübingen did not accept his lecture qualification ''Das Dirk-Hamer-Syndrom und die eiserne Regel des Krebses'' in 1982 for quality reasons, after having examined it. Hamer worked then in several private practices together with his wife from 1964 to 1986 and opened at least three private clinics leaded by himself to experiment his new medicine on cancer patients. In 1972 Hamer moves to Hamburg where he tried to conclude a real-estate affair that failed however. Details about that are reported in an article of the newspaper Stern:...''between 1967 and 1976 he [Hamer] and his wife Sigrid, beeing also a physician, are working in the area of Heidelberg, with the exception of a short period in Hamburg...in 1972 Hamer moved to Hamburg-Blankenese. From now on he called himself ''Hamer von Fumetti'' and wanted to build up some apartments in an old Villa.  But there was not enough money and and a court forbid him to use the name ''von Fumetti''.  The former ''Sir von Fumetti'' returned to Heidelberg with a lot of debts and he opened another practice... <ref>article in ''Stern'' date november 24, 1983</ref>

In 1976 Hamer was forced to return his accreditation for payments by the ''kassenärztliche Vereinigung Nordbaden'' as there were ''financial irregularities''. During the same years he moves to Weiterstadt where he gets a credit of 70.000 DM (35.000 Euro) from the community of Weiterstadt to arrange his practice. But Hamer will never open that practice and according to the newspaper Stern he will not pay back the credit, and moved instead to Italy. In 1978 his wife also returned her KÄV-accreditation. During that period Hamer patented several inventions. Hamer invented an electric scalpel (''Hamer-scalpel''), an electrically powered chain-saw for bones, a particular couch for patients and an injection technique. His inventions had no economic success, on the contrary: they created new financial problems. The german company Kienzle tried to market his Hamer-scalpel but it was discovered later that this instrument did cause severe tissue-damage when used in curves. Kienzle and Hamers debtees asked to return back money payed in advance and they demanded a declaration of bankruptcy. Hamer left Germany therefore in 1978 and moved to Rome (via Cassia 1280 and via Margutta). According to the sentence of the court OVG Koblenz in 1990, Hamer had filed 39 entries in the public list of german debtors.

According to rumors, his son Dirk was expelled from Italy because of ''resitance to authority''. This son Dirk was shot in his leg the day 17 of august 1978, while sleeping under deck on a yacht near Corsika island (Cavallo island France). Dirk Hamer was not the real target, according to witnesses, the target was in fact the roman ''play-boy doctor'' Nicky Pende (son of the doctor of the shooting person who became later friend of Hamer's daughter Birgit, a well known film actress). The bullet traveled across an ancored boat and finally perforated the external hull of a second motor-yacht where Dirk Hamer was sleeping. The M1-rifle bullet was shot in the night by the italian aristocrat Vittorio Emanuele (son of Italy's last king Umberto II) who was drunken. He was upset because someone used his inflatable tender boat without asking him first. It was the son of his private physician who used this tender boat to return to his boat after a visit in a local restaurant. In the same restaurant Vittorio Emanuele had also his dinner, sitting at a neighbouring table. Dirk Hamer was hospitalized very late first into a small corsican clinic, and later into a clinic in Marseille where one leg was amputated. After a protracted medical course in Marseille and Heidelberg, Dirk Hamer died on December 7, 1978 in Heidelberg. His father Hamer displaced him from Marseille to a clinic in Heidelberg against the expressed wish of the competent french surgeons in Marseille. On august 18 1991 the Paris Assize Court did not find Vittorio Emanuele guilty of homicide, he was only convicted of the illegal possession of a rifle and sentenced to a six month penalty. When he was incarcerated in June 2006 (many years later) on charges of corruption, Vittorio Emanuele voice was recorded by a hidden bug in his cellar. In the recording Emanuele was admitting in reference to the death of Dirk Hamer that "..I was in the wrong, [...] but I must say I fooled them [the French judges]..". After the death of his son, Hamer declared in newspaper articles that Vittorio Emanuele had allegedly offered him 2 million DM (1 million Euro, about 1,5 million USD) to avoid any further lawsuit. Later he declared even that 10 millions of DM have been offered to him. But in reality, the two families decide a payment of only 500000 FF (french francs - which is much less) and Vittorio Emanuele payed only 200000 DM (100000 Euro) and argued that the intervention of the father to hospitalize his severely injured son in Germany was the real cause of his death.

The wife of Emanuele, princess Marina Doria, said in an article of the newspaper Stern that in the case of a payment of 2 millions DM, Hamer had asked his daughter Birgit (who was present in Corsica as a witness) to make a legal statement in favor of Vittorio Emanuele during the prosecution. In 2006, Hamer will make a very strange statement in relation to the death of his son: now his son had been killed in 1978 because of his own invention of the new medicine (but that occurred three years later) and he considered his son to be an innocent victim of a complott against his pseudomedical doctrine.

==Hamer's testicular cancer==
Two months after his son's death, Hamer self detected a testicular cancer, which could be cured conventionally by a surgical intervention in the surgical clinic in Tübingen. According to Hamer, the ''shock'' of the death of his son caused him to develop his testicular cancer within only '''two month after''' the event and to cause also breast cancer in his wife Sigrid. His wife was cured by Hamer using his new medicine and was his ''first patient'' as he says in one of his books. She died however in 1985 after having refused any conventional cure by modern medicine, the new medicine could not help her.

But New Medicine proved a desaster for cancer patients: after the clinic had been closed by authorities, two journalists were able to identify fifty former cancer patients of Sanatorium Rosenhof and established that only 7 of them survived. They published a report in a critical newspaper article <ref>article "Der Stern" November 24, 1983, authors: Teja Fiedler and Cordt Schnibben. In 1983 Hamer opens an illegale private clinic called ''Haus Dammersmoor'' in Gyhum near Bremen (lower Saxonia) in Dammersmoorerweg 17 where he was the only physician. This clinic will be closed later by the authorities. Hamer declares years later that ''some of his patients'' died in his clinic because of ''critic'' newspaper articles about him and his clinic.

In 1983, Hamer opened another illegal private clinic called ''Haus Dammersmoor'' in Gyhum near Bremen (Lower Saxony) at Dammersmoorerweg 17, where he once again was the only physician present. This clinic, too, was to be closed by authorities. Hamer years later claimed that ''some of his patients'' died in his clinic due to ''critical'' newspaper articles about him and his clinic.

The day 12th of april 1985 dies his wife Sigrid. She had breast cancer. The same year 1985 Hamer tells a nurse in a chat in one of his clinics (Katzenelnbogen) that his wife did not believe in his methods and that she died because of her scepticism (see: [[Testimonies_of_former_associates_of_Hamer]]). In one of his own books <ref>Hamer RG: book ''Krebs - Krankheit der Seele, page 28 (cancer - disease of the soul)</ref> he talks about the deadly disease of his wife saying something very different: ...''by the way, the first patient that i could cure after finding the IRON RULE OF CANCER was my wife who had a node in her left breast, but we knew the conflict, namely to be kicked off the appartment in via Margutta [Rome], the appartment belonged to the cousine of the murderer [Vittorio Emanuele]. But we knew also the therapy. My wife is the most intelligent person i ever saw. She understood, and she recovered. The conflict was resolved. The node regressed...'' A french website making propaganda for the new medicine is talking about five consecutive cured cancer diseases of Hamer's wife.

In august 1985 Hamer opens another private and illegal cancer clinic as a ''boarding house'' in the town of Katzenelnbogen near Koblenz (county of Rhein-Lahn-Kreis). Hamer was not authorized to treat patients in this clinic. The name of the clinic was ''Freunde von Dirk'' (friend of Dirk). This clinic was also forced to close after 5 month and after the outrageous situation in that clinic was discovered by the autorities and after two external physicians made a complaint. Neighbours of the clinic were alarmed by screaming or crying people they could see at the windows and offered food for the patients (unconfirmed information from witnesses in an internet forum). Hamer was again the only physician in that clinic and he left the patients often alone for days not telling how to reach him by phone or telling a replacing physician. He went several times to France in order to get money donations from a french sponsor (Antoine D' Oncieu de la Batie / ASAC). In this clinic many patients from european countries and Germany died or were sent home or sent in other hospitals just a short time prior to die. One patient died even during the transport to another clinic. Surrounding clinics refused then to accept further dying patients from Katzenelnbogen. According to three women who worked there in 1985 and who were interviewed in 2007 (see: [[Testimonies_of_former_associates_of_Hamer]]), no patient was cured there and almost every patient died. During this period of time, Hamer presents in the media pictures of X-rays from patients to proof the effectiveness of his new medicine. However: some of these patients did not survive the treatment according to his new medicine. In the TV-transmission Panorama (ARD) and in an article of the newspaper ''Spiegel'' were shown pictures of the graves instead.

At the end of 1985 Hamer was sued by two physicians because of the scandalous situation in his Freunde-von-Dirk-Hamer-clinic in Katzenelnbogen and the criminal police confiscated material during a house-search of that clinic that was then closed by force. Hamer moved to Köln (Cologne) in march 1986 and the district court of Cologne revoced his medical licence the day april 8 of 1986 <ref>case file number Az 9 K /215/87</ref>. The district court of Cologne sentence was based on article 5 of the german Bundesärzteordnung and on two psychiatric expertises of professor B. Pflug (university of Frankfurt) dated november 27, 1985 and february 2, 1986. Under German law the right to practice medicine can be withdrawn if the doctor has diminished mental abilities. The court court judgment in 1986 was reconfirmed in 2003. From that date on he continued to treat patients without having a medical license or any ''Heilpraktiker''-license (license of a german naturopat).

In 1990 he moved to Austria and opened a ''consultation center'' in the small town of Burgau in the old castle of Burgau without having a medical license in Germany or Austria. He was helped by the mayor of Burgau, Wallner, as he helped his wife to perform a new-medicine ''conflictolisis''. But it was known later that despite this intervention the mayors-wife died because of cancer. Officially, this consulting-center was declared to be an austrian branch of his own publishing house ''Amici di Dirk'' who sells its books. Hamer received many money donations on his bank account at that time. The consultation-center in Burgau was finally closed again by the austrian authorities and documents were confiscated by the police.

He left his frenche prison in february 2006 and returned back to spain where he continued to treat visiting patients or giving them advices by phone. Hamer and witnesses say that he had alwasy the feeling to be chased by people following him everywhere. Hamer left finally spain in march 2007 to hide in Norway. In two interviews he told his friends that he would prefer to hide in Norway because Norway was not part of the European community. According to Hamer, the public prosecutor of the town of Cottbus (Germany), Robinek, was accusing him now.
