Cloudbuster (also short CB) are devices related to the late [[Esotericism|esoteric] ]work of the Austrian psychiatrist Wilhelm Reich. According to its proponents, it is possible to affect Reichs hypothetical orgones in the atmosphere with cloudbusters. According to their views the local weather could be changed, rain could be released in particular or clouds be affected up to a distance of several hundred kilometers. Since the chemtrail-hypothesis has become popular, cloudbusters were suggested by proponents of chemtrails to "dilute" the alleged chemtrails. Cloudbusters should also protect against harmful electromagnetic radiation and "mind control" with transmitters like HAARP.
Similar devices are offered as TB (towerbuster), chembuster oder HHG (holy hand grenade) commercially in the internet.
Aside from pseudoscientific pseudo-explanations no information about a possible mechanism of action is provided. On achievements by cloudbusters only reports and anecdotes in a not scientific sense are known. Th American geographer James DeMeo is a current adherent to the cloudbuster hypothesis.
The brown esoteric Jessie Marsson is a big advocate of cloud and chembusters and sells them commercially.
History of cloudbusters
The first cloudbusters were build by Wilhelm Reich in the U.S. in the 1950s and have to be seen in relation to his orgone accumulators. They should draw "orgone energy" postulated by Reich from the atmosphere and dissipate it into earth. In recent years instructions for building cloudbusters are circulated in the Internet that differ in part from Reichs constructions and go back to the ideas of American businessman and esoteric Don Croft, which he claims to have found by using a pendulum.
Principle of building a cloudbuster according to circulationg manuals
In principle a cloudbuster of newer design consists of several long copper tubes that are mounted parallel. At one end the tubes are directed to the sky, on the other end the are fixed to a container in which a two-component adhesive or polyester resin is mixed with iron or aluminum scrap. This substance is called orgonite. Crystals are added, that are connected to each tube.
