Myron Wyn Evans (geb. 2. Mai 1950 in Craig-Cefn-Parc / Wales) ist ein britischer Physiker und Kritiker der Einsteinschen Relativitätstheorie.[1] Auf Evans geht eine wissenschaftlich wenig rezipierte und mathematisch fehlerhafte[2][3] Theorie zurück, die Einsten-Cartan-Evans-Theorie (ECE), die Evans als eine Art Fortsetzung der Suche nach einer Einheitlichen Feldtheorie von Albert Einstein versteht. Eine andere Bezeichnung ist auch Grand Covariant Unified Field Theory (GCUFT). Evans ist auch Erfinder einer O(3)-Theorie, die von der Existenz eines Longitudinalfeldes B(3) im freien Raum ausgeht. In der Physik sind Longitudinalwellen nur in Festkörpern bekannt, nicht im freien Raum, wo nur Transversalwellen bekannt sind.

Evans ist Autor zahlreicher Aufsätze und Schriften auf den Gebieten der Physik und Chemie. Er ist Direktor eines von ihm gegründeten privaten Alpha Institute for Scientific Studies (AIAS).[4] Einer der Direktoren ist der deutsche Einsteinkritiker Horst Eckardt; als chairman wurde auch Francesco Fucilla genannt. Myron Evans gibt auf seinen Webseiten auch an, Mitglied der Telesio-Galilei-Academy zu sein. Er betreibt im Internet einen Blog zur Darstellung seiner Theorien. Nach Angaben aus dem Internet soll Evans auch eine Rolle bei der Gründung der Titelmühlen-Einrichtung "Maxwell Einstein University" gespielt haben, die wissenschaftlich wertlose Diplome verkauft.

Evans erhielt mehrere Auszeichnungen, nennt aber kurioser Weise selbst wissenschaftlich völlig wertlose Titel auf seinen Webseiten. So betont er, ein "Elected American Biographical Institute Life Fellow" zu sein. Das American Biographical Institute ist jedoch eine Firma, die so genannte Vanity Awards verkauft. Für das Jahr 2007 ist auch der Vorsitz der umstrittenen Santilli-Galilei Association von Francesco Fucilla genannt. Diese hieß vormals "Santilli-Galilei Academy of Science" und war nach Ruggero Maria Santilli benannt. Für das gleiche Jahr 2007 gibt Evans zudem an, Direktor der Firma Steriwave Plc. zu sein. Die Steriwave Plc ist eine Kleinfirma mit dem Ruf eines "penny stock"-Unternehmens von Francesco Fucilla. Die Steriwave bot etwa pseudomedizinische Geräte auf den Gebieten der Bioresonanz und Wasserbelebung an. Im Angebot war auch ein Kleinst-Fusionsreaktor R-1-S, der auf Basis so genanntenr piezonuklearer Reaktionen arbeiten soll.

Auf seinen eigenen Webseiten bezeichnet sich Evans als Rektor einer "Maxwell Einstein University", die im Jahre 2009 gegründet worden sein soll. Zu dieser "Universität" lassen sich keine weiteren Hinweise finden. Laut Evans sei seine "Universität" noch nicht akkreditiert:

"The Maxwell Einstein University (MEU) has applied for and is awaiting accreditation, and until accreditation is received cannot formally accept applications from prospective students, but will note the interest of each applicant on file."[5]

Die Nichtakkreditierung hinderte Evans jedoch nicht, einen Anhänger seiner Theorien, Stephen J. Crothers, mit einem Ehrendoktortitel seiner nicht akkreditierten Scheinuniversität auszuzeichnen. Crothers wurde zudem zum Professor of Theoretical Physics elect der Maxwell Einstein University ernannt:

This is an address of rare intellectual honesty in the sleaze and silage world of standard physics. Prof. Stephen Crothers was denied a Ph. D. degree for his views, and so should be the first recipient of a Ph. D. Honoris Causa from the Myron Evans University. He is Vice President elect of the University.

Von Wissenschaftlern wurde Evans als "crackpot" bezeichnet, so vom niederländischen Physik-Nobelpreisträger Gerard 't Hooft.[6]

Auf sachliche, kritische Betrachtungen seiner Behauptungen reagierte Evans mit polemisch zu bezeichnenden Angriffen auf Kritiker sowie dem Kontaktabbruch. Der Darmstädter Mathematiker Gerhard Bruhn machte beispielsweise eine solche Erfahrung. Er zeigte mehrere Fehler und Widersprüche in von Evans aufgestellten Gleichungen auf, bezogen auf die Behauptung von Evans zur Existenz eines skalaren Feldes (B3) in Ausbreitungsrichtung einer zirkular polarisierten elektromagnetischen Welle im freien Raum und den Maxwell-Gleichungen des Elektromagnetismus. Dabei ergeben sich zum Beispiel zwangsläufig Probleme bei der mathematischen Überlagerung zweier zirkular polarisierten Wellen mit entgegengesetzter Polarisation, die bekanntlich zur Bildung eines linear polarisierten Feldes führen müssten, was sich auch messtechnisch nachweisen lässt. Auf die sachlich formulierte und durch Zitate belegte Kritik reagierte Evans etwa wie folgt:

"Bruhn seems to be a typical example of an arrogant and defunct establishment... Bruhn's dishonesty and harassment is part of a campaign being carried on by one or two unprofessional individuals. I have been of the receiving end of this for some years. I have learned that the only way to deal with these cranks is to block them. Obviously I do not regard them as scientists...In legal terms this is defamation (false information spread to many parties) and first degree harassment (he does it repeatedly). I warn colleagues to be alert to further attempts of this kind, and to calmly report Bruhn to his Chair at the Technical University of Darmstadt with a request for appropriate disciplinary action against him (bringing the University into disrepute). Therefore I demand Dr Bruhn's apology and immediate resignation. His conduct is unprofessional..."

Kurzbiographie

Myron Evans wurde 1950 in Wales als Sohn eines Minenarbeiters geboren; er besuchte die Pontardawe Grammar School und danach die University of Wales Aberystwyth. Er wanderte 1986 die USA aus und war dort an der Cornell University tätig. An der University of North Carolina (Charlotte) arbeitete er von 1992 bis 1995 als Professor für Physik.

Einstein-Cartan-Evans -heorie 1 und 2

Die außerwissenschaftlich diskutierte Einstein-Cartan-Evans-Theorie (ECE und ECE 2) spielt lediglich in der Szene der Anhänger von Perpetuum Mobile-Vorrichtungen und so genannter Freier Energie eine Rolle. Allerdings existieren aktuell (2017) zwei Wikipedia-Artikel, die sich der ECE widmen.[7][8] Ein Artikel zu Myron Evans wurde inzwischen bei der englischsprachigen Wikipedia gelöscht.

AIAS

Das private Alpha Institute for (AIAS) wurde 1998 gegründet und nennt eine Anschrift in Ungarn.[9] Der AIAS sollen etwa 60 Ingenieure und Wissenschaftler angehören. Einer der Direktoren ist der deutsche Einsteinkritiker Horst Eckardt. Die Gruppe befasst sich insbesondere mit ECE von Evans als "Vereinheitlichten Feldtheorie" / "Unified Field Theory" / GUFT. Auch Skalarwellen gehörten zum Forschungsgebiet der AIAS. Die AIAS soll Mitglied in der Telesio-Galilei-Academy sein. Evans, Eckart und Mitstreiter bei der AIAS sind der Meinung, dass das Standardmodell der Elementarteilchenphysik (SM) falsch sei und durch die ECE-Theorie ersetzt werden sollte, die es auch erlauben würde, Energie aus dem Raum zu gewinnen. Ein AIAS Emeritus-Mitglied ist Tom Bearden, angeblicher Erfinder eines Perpetuum Mobile ("Motionless Electromagnetic Generator" / MEG). Ein weiteres Mitglied ist der englische Gärtner und Hobbywissenschaftler Stephen J. Crothers (geb. 1957). Crothers und Evans sind Autoren des Buchs "Criticisms of the Einstein Field Equation", in dem sie sich dafür aussprechen, die allgemeine Relativitätstheorie von Einstein zu Gunsten der ECE von Evans aufzugeben.

The unified field theory allows the acquisition of urgently needed electric power from Evans spacetime, and it is important that formal courses begin on it at Universities worldwide. All the leading univeristies internationally have now visited www.aias.us, together with all leading physics institutes and similar, "research councils, military establishments and units and similar facilities worldwide. We have had serval visits from Head of State and Parliamentary level or equivalent worldwide."

    He asks electricity companies to take notice of his theories, because soon he expects to be able to generate electricity out of vacuum energy. Needless to say, all this is complete nonsense. The emptiness of these papers is so deafening that he does not impose a real threat to science. Most of us did not even notice the presence of one more crackpot in the arena of science. The number of citations he collects on his papers in Foundations of Physics are single-digit ones. Still, this person must be stopped. There was at least one person that he managed to fool: the chief Editor of Foundations of Physics Letters."
