Um die Rechenzeiten auf ein vertretbares Maß zu beschränken, mussten Schwerpunkte gesetzt werden. So wurden z.B. die Bereiche um die Einschlagstellen der Flugzeuge mit hoher Genauigkeit berechnet; für andere Bereiche wurde eine verminderte Genauigkeit für ausreichend gehalten:

Späte, für die Auftragserfüllung nicht relevante Einsturzphasen hätten vollkommen eigenständig modelliert werden müssen, was den Gesamtaufwand vervielfacht hätte. Dazu bestand kein Grund, weil der Auftrag, technische Grundlagen für Vorschläge zur Erhöhung der Einsturzsicherheit zu schaffen, mit Abschluss der durchgeführten Simulationen erfüllt war.  

Späte, für die Auftragserfüllung nicht relevante Einsturzphasen hätten vollkommen eigenständig modelliert werden müssen, was den Gesamtaufwand vervielfacht hätte.
