Glaubt man den Angaben der HeartMath-Befürworter, so hätte das menschliche Herz bestimmte Eigenschaften, die in der wissenschaftlichen Medizin und Kardiologie völlig unbekannt sind. So solle das Herz Energiewellen aussenden können, die eine Art ordnende und steuernde Funktion auf sämtliche andere Organe inklusive des Hirns ausübten. Auch habe das Herz ein eigenes Gedächtnis, eigene Gefühle und eine eigene Intelligenz. Zitat HeartMath:
