Seit September 2017 ist die Rede von einer Studie des Professor für Bauingenieurwesen an der University of Alaska (Fairbanks / UAF), Leroy Hulsey, die angeblich den offiziellen NIST-Bericht wissenschaftlich widerlegt habe. Allerdings ist bis heute (Stand: August 2018) die gemeinte Studie nicht veröffentlicht worden. Finanziert wurde die Studie mit 300.000 US Dollar von der privaten Organisation Architects and Engineers for 9/11 truth, einer Gruppierung, die davon überzeugt ist dass der offizielle Bericht zum Anschlag auf das World Trade Center in New York fehlerhaft ist.
