Der "Erfinder" selbst schreibt, dass 714-X aus der Reaktion von Campher mit Ammoniak gebildet wird und nennt die Verbindung Triméthylaminohydroxybicycloheptane chloride (siehe [https://www.cerbe.com/714X]). [http://www.rexresearch.com/naessens/naessens.htm]. Das ist ermal unsinnig, es muss zumindest ein Hydrochlorid sein. Das Ganze mystifiziert der Hersteller dann so: "The precise nature of the nitrogenated compound contained in 714X could not be clearly identified."
